The Will To
Impose Order
This ten-foot wide installation is directly behind an 18th C. orrery (a model of the solar system) in a window of a decorative Victorian-era building. I installed colbalt-blue plexiglas and studded it with various sized glass marbles, to resemble a starry sky. The star field echoes lenses in the building's domed ceiling. I have delineated three invented constellations that are in the form of flow charts, a contemporary iconography echoing man's will to impose order. |
